Everybody is fighting the recession in one way or another. (Except for rich people - but they don't deserve sympathy.) Part of fighting the recession is handling layoffs, and for some, having to go job hunting. It's never easy, and learning how to be marketing yourself effectively is a must, but with slim prospects, you have to find out how to come up with some cash in the mean time. Some have moved back in with their parents, and many find odd jobs to earn a little extra. Don't give up searching - ever. You can't give up looking. It's hard to cope with fighting the recession with no installment loans to back you up, but don't stop the good fight.

The reform plan, aimed at providing health care coverage for the nearly 50 million Americans that have none, also faces resistance among some conservative Democrats.People wonder who is behind the town hall riots when anyone discusses health care reform, or Obamacare - the answer is Conservatives for Patients' Rights. Conservatives for Patients Rights, or the CPR, is headed by one Rick Scott ~~who isn't a doctor~~ but used to be the CEO of a hospital, and under his watch, his medical administration defrauded Medicare of $1.7 billion through a practice called upcoding, wherein a Medicare patient gets treated, but Medicare is billed for additional tests that never took place. (That's fraud.) Realistically, Conservatives for Patients Rights and Mr. Scott will never need short term loans, and the only reason why they oppose the bill is that they want the money from the program for themselves.

What a great night for Omaha and Democrats

Tuesday was a great night for Omaha and Democrats. The victory of Jim Suttle and Chris Jerram has helped to build the Democratic base. With Democrats controlling the Mayors office and the city council, these victories are going to be a great asset for future candidates in 2010 and 2012. I say this because if Hal had won, the 2010 congressional would not be targeted by the DCCC. With Jim Suttle in the Mayors office, the national democrats are going to take a very serious look at CD 2 and give the democratic candidate a pool of national money that would not be available if there was a republican in city hall. I hope Tuesdays victories are just the beginning of Democratic gains in Omaha and Douglas county. If we as Democrats control Douglas and Lancaster counties, we are going to be a force statewide and compete for the governors mansion in 2010.

Let's keep building the Blue army!
